Postak User Guide

Postak is a self-hosted newsletter and email-marketing tool by vmanne.com. Use it to manage subscribers, target them with segments, send or schedule campaigns, and see how they perform.

Guides

  • Getting Started: sign in, reset a forgotten password, create and share a project, manage accounts (administrators)
  • Managing Contacts: add subscribers, import lists, sign-up forms, unsubscribes, bounces and complaints
  • Groups: hand-picked lists of contacts, adding people one by one, in bulk, by import, or from a form
  • Sign-up Forms: hosted sign-up pages, embedding, double opt-in and welcome emails, spam protection
  • Segments: send to part of your list using rules
  • Templates: styled, HTML, plain-text, and MJML templates, live preview, the project default
  • Campaigns: set up a sender (SMTP, Amazon SES, SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark), write in Markdown, HTML, or MJML, personalise, preview, test, and send or schedule a newsletter to groups and segments; tracking options and the web view
  • A/B Testing: try up to four subjects or versions of the content on part of the audience, then send the winner to everyone else
  • Reports: opens, clicks, unsubscribes, bounces, and complaints; A/B test results; links, recipients, activity over time, and CSV download
  • API Keys: create, copy, and revoke a project's keys for scripts and other systems
  • Using the API: the Bearer header, what a key can do, curl examples, errors, and rate limits
